Taekwondo Self Defense Classes for Children

BENEFITS OF TAEKWONDO FOR KIDS

I would like to share some words with Parents and Students About the Benefits of Taekwondo for Children at the American Dragon Martial Arts Academies schools in Clermont, Orlando, Sunrise and Winter Garden, Florida. Martial Arts like Taekwondo can provide many benefits for children. In addition to self defense class, the training helps them developmentally,  academically, and spiritually.

As a certified martial arts self defense instructor and grand master of Taekwondo and Hapkido with more than 35 years of experience, I have found that Taekwondo training often provides many benefits to youngsters beyond that offered by other sports or youth activities.

Taekwondo Self Defense Benefits for Shy Children

The introverted youngster often begins to blossom when he or she learns Taekwondo self defense. The structured Taekwondo drills that involve punching, kicking, and yelling help the youngster overcome shyness and timidity. The anxious or worried child becomes more confident and assertive as he learns to move and control his body while doing Taekwondo self
defense movements. He or she learns to work and compete with others in a friendly and safe environment at Taekwondo class. Self-confidence and self-esteem grow naturally as part of Taekwondo training. Many parents report a marked increase in the child’s social interactions because of learning Taekwondo. Because of learning Taekwondo the youngster feels less
threatened by other children or new situations. As a result, there is often more of a willingness to become more involved with others outside of Taekwondo class.

Benefits of Taekwondo Training for Extroverted Children

In Taekwondo class the extroverted youngster has a safe, healthy outlet in which to compete with himself and others. Youngsters are taught how to avoid trouble and challenges because Taekwondo is to only be used for self defense. They learn to have enough self-confidence that they need not respond to teasing or provocation from peers. Taekwondo is a safe, positive environment that allows children to burn up some of that extra energy.

Taekwondo Classes  Calms Aggressive Children

At Taekwondo training the aggressive child is taught the self-discipline that aids in keeping anger under control. He or she learns the philosophy of Taekwondo that fighting is merely a way of showing off and that showing off is a sign of low self-esteem and a lack of self-confidence. True Taekwondo training develops self esteem and to only be used for self defense.

Taekwondo Schools Helps Children Develop A Strong Mind, Body, and Spirit

Taekwondo training is a gross motor activity that helps youngsters develop a sense of integrity about their bodies. Balance, coordination, posture, and general movements improve with Taekwondo training. The pre-adolescent, in particular, finds that Taekwondo class helps him or her cope with the clumsiness that often accompanies the spurt of growth at this age.

Additional Benefits of Taekwondo Training for Children

Taekwondo also offers an additional bonus that other sports do not provide. Taekwondo teaches self-defense. In the unsettling times in which we live, knowledge of how to protect oneself can be crucial. Loving parents understand that sending their child to a Taekwondo school for self defense class is a parental obligation not just another youth activity or sport. Parents often report feeling more secure knowing their sons or daughters are capable of defending themselves thanks to learning Taekwondo.

Parents should encourage and support your youngster’s involvement in Taekwondo training. You will be pleasantly surprised with the results. And, who knows, you may want to try a Taekwondo class yourself!

Sincerely,

Richard Hackworth, Phd.

Womens Self Defense Class

LEARN TO TEACH WOMEN’S SELF DEFENSE

Thanks to the Instructor Training Program at the American Dragon Martial Arts Academies in Clermont, Orlando, Winter Garden and Sunrise, Florida, now you can become a Certified Women’s Self-Defense Instructor. This program is sponsored by the Korean Martial Arts Instructors Association. Instructors, educators, activists and concerned citizens from around the world have all become certified instructors. They want to learn how to teach the system and they want to be able to offer it to their students and communities.

The current network of certified martial arts self defense instructors is spreading the word and educating women in support of our mission: Prevent and combat sexual assault and violence against women. If we can save one female, we will have had a measure of success. Korean Martial Arts Instructors Association Instructor certification courses take you through exactly how to teach the course and how to avoid damaging pitfalls with this highly sensitive subject matter. The demand for this program has been increasing dramatically. We get requests from all over for classes and we just can’t keep up. Current instructors are providing classes for schools, groups and students all over North America, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Asia and Brazil.

Publicity on the program has been picked up world wide with articles in most major martial arts magazines. More women today are searching for realistic and effective women’s self-defense programs and they are discovering that the programs at the American Dragon Martial Arts Academies are just what they need. We want to help women get the knowledge they need in today’s world. And that’s where you come in. Become a certified instructor. You get a proven curriculum that is easy and quick to pick up. Women in your community get the knowledge and training that they desperately want and need. You ultimately run the classes the way you want.

You can choose to donate your time and expertise to your community or you can keep any money you charge for your classes. You also get national marketing and publicity to develop awareness of the program. You get an established Internet presence to push referrals to your classes. In return, the American Dragon Martial Arts Academies gets the support it needs to spread self-defense knowledge to as many women and girls as possible. As a certified Women’s Self-Defense instructor, you get: Inside access and association with a successful program and curriculum that is proven. Listing on http://americandragononline.com with instructor profile and photo. National marketing support and national publicity support with stories on network television, newspapers and magazines. “Be Your Own Body Guard” Instructor t-shirt. Referrals from are automatically generated from our self defense martial arts websites. Instructor Certificate for display. CD with complete course materials including a special section with inside information on how to successfully teach the course. Lecture module and a video module for the program that you can use for presentations to schools and groups. The lecture and video modules can be combined with your demonstration. Or each one can be used separately. A semi-custom brochure with your personal information included. (Available as a Microsoft Publisher file which you can have printed out at your local Kinko’s) Instructor support with questions and answers on how to start your program, how to make it work and how to avoid common mistakes. As a certified instructor, you’ll have the credentials you need to teach women’s self-defense classes for community groups, churches, women’s groups, women’s trade associations, commercial fitness centers and schools.

Each module of the program emphasizes a different aspect of women’s self-defense, giving you the option to reach different markets and different interest areas. The cost for for each module (not including meals or accommodations) is only $295.00. This low cost can realistically be recaptured by giving one class! Think about it, if you have 10 students and charge only $30 per student, you’ve already paid for your course. To ensure continued quality, instructors are required to recertify every two years at half the cost of the initial certification. Instructors are able to attend any refresher course for no charge between their re-certifications.

If it’s so low, why charge at all? Actually, when we first began certifying instructors, I gave away the course. Literally. I invited people who I thought would be good instructors and I did not charge them anything. In fact, for some of these instructors I also gave them free copies of the instructional video tape series. This was all done to support our mission of combating violence against women. Some of these instructors have gone on to be quite successful and active. Most others, quite frankly, have not done anything with the program. It’s an interesting aspect of human psychology — we value what we pay for.

Our unique course is Life Changing. Here is your chance to really give back to your community by offering a valuable, and valued, service. Your involvement in this program is life-changing – for you as well as your students. You’ll find the network of instructors is very, very supportive. All of us have a similar mission, some say it’s their “calling”. The course is full of friendly, supportive instructors. We are all working to make our communities better, so you’ll have plenty of like-minded people to work with. And we all have time to trade ideas and tips for starting your program. You’ll find the courses immensely interesting as we delve into the challenges and opportunities of teaching the non-martial artist female a method of self-defense which realistically allows them to defend themselves against a male attacker.

Self Defense Martial Arts Classes in Orlando Clermont Winter Garden

Martial Arts Self Defense Winter Garden, Orlando, Clermont and Sunrise, Florida

How we, the staff of the American Dragon Martial Arts Academies feel about Self Defense. It is the act of fending for oneself, one’s property or the welfare of another from physical damage.

When should one utilize self defense? When you feel your life or family is in danger. You’re taught that if possible avoid spots that would put you in harm. You ought to always park in well lit parking areas, walk on well lit streets, avert alleys or dark streets if conceivable, and always be on your guard. If you’ve the chance walk in groups or at any rate have a friend. If your company has security I’m certain the guard would be compelled to help you to your car. If you’re walking down a street and see somebody that may hurt you cross to the other side. If you think somebody is following you, once again cross to the other side. You are able to likewise walk into a store or business that’s open. You are able to even make a scene, be loud, let individuals know who you are, most aggressors will keep off.

When you hit your home have your house key set. If you don’t already, have timekeepers put one on your outdoor or porch light. The time that your lights go on ought to be an hour before you arrive home or as it becomes dark. If you’ve a cell phone call an acquaintance or loved one and talk to them till you get inside. If you don’t wish to disturb them act like you’re on the phone. This will make any potential aggressor think you’re on the phone, thus discouraging any attack. This will work; perhaps not a hundred percent of the time, but it’s an effective technique.

So averting the situation and not putting yourself in a vulnerable place is the best self defense you are able to practice. Your suspicion, combined with your sense, may help get you out of trouble.

What if this isn’t enough? Some things can’t be averted, and there are a lot of things that may be done to help in your defense. There are a lot of self defense particulars and tools on the market that may be effective. There are up close self defense alarms. These particulars are but not limited to, stun guns (for that up close assault or grab) and learning self defense moves. Today’s technology has bettered the look and operation of stun guns. Now you are able to find stun guns that appear like a flash light. There are stun guns that look like mobile phones (for the component of surprise). The preferred of security officers are baton stun guns. Another good option could be to take one of our martial arts classes in Orlando, Clermont, Sunrise or Winter Garden, Florida

Self Defense begins with you… Don’t be a dupe, a number, a statistic. Be prepared, be set up, and defend yourself. To start self defense martial arts classes in Winter Garden, Orlando, Sunrise or Clermont, Florida visit www.americandragononline.com
